DP2X-KAC with with extra wires and connector to use with a Keep Alive:
In January 2000 Train Control Systems was the first manufacturer to come out with the "direct plug" style decoder designed to directly plug into the 8 pin NMRA socket supplied with many different locomotives. Since the original design many improvements have been made.  The DP2X is now standard with BEMF for even better slow speed control. It is much smaller and thinner than the DP5X making it even more suitable for fitting into locomotives. Pictured above is the original DP5X with the new DP2X and the M1 decoder for size comparisons.Â
